PlacePop 2.0 is in the iPhone app store now, with a new look, new features and some huge performance upgrades.
So, what’s new?
Collect a Virtual Loyalty Card for every place you go:
PlacePop now lets you collect a virtual loyalty card at any place in the world, just by checking in there when you visit. Each check in counts as one “stamp” on your virtual card for that place. Cards get upgraded as you reach new levels of status: from Bronze, through to Silver, Gold, and eventually Platinum.

Here’s another great reason to upgrade to PlacePop 2.0: it works much better, and will look a lot prettier on your new iPhone. We’ve built in support for fast switching between apps, plus hi-res graphics to take advantage of the iPhone 4’s retina display.

We listened to your feedback and are excited to announce that we have a lot more fun, social features coming your way. Soon you will be able to:
- Comment and “like” your friends’ check ins, photos and notes
- Change your profile photo in the app
- Connect your Facebook account with PlacePop (you can already do this at http://placepop.com, but it’s coming to the app as well)
